For the Magico Collection, Leonardo looked to ancient Greece. when trade opened up between the Greek city-state and parts of Asia Minor, southern Italy and Sicily. With it came a cultural revival of poetry, architecture and art. Today, Italy is still exceedingly culturally rich. In all of the arts, including music, the visual arts and film. While the Momento Magico harkens back to the ancients, it also looks to a more recent muse, the 1962 film Anima Nera by Roberto Rossellini.
